Ca fait un moment que j’avais envie de mettre la main sur cette r\u00e9plique. Lorsqu’on en parle avec les joueurs, deux r\u00e9actions dominent : \u00ab\u00a0j’adore\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0c’est moche\u00a0\u00bb (parfois \u00e9galement une combinaison du genre \u00ab\u00a0c’est moche, j’adore ! ( pour les gens bizarres dont je fais partie).<\/p>\n

Il est vrai que le XDM a un look particulier, presque r\u00e9tro-futuriste (je viens d’inventer, \u00e7a sonne bien :-p ) avec son grip \u00e0 grosses sculptures et sa bouille toute carr\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Franck, patron du magasin Airsoft-Concept<\/a> pr\u00e8s de Tours m’a gentiment propos\u00e9 de faire cette review afin de pouvoir faire un comparatif entre le mod\u00e8le Marui et le WE d\u00e9j\u00e0 en test ICI<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It had been a while since I wanted to review this replica. When you talk about it with players, two reactions dominate : \u00ab\u00a0I love it\u00a0\u00bb and \u00ab\u00a0wow, it’s ugly !\u00a0\u00bb (and for weird people as me, \u00ab\u00a0Wow, it’s ugly, I love it !\u00a0\u00bb).<\/span><\/p>\n

It is true that the XDM has a distinctive look, almost \u00ab\u00a0retro-futuritic\u00a0\u00bb (just made that up, it sounds good though !) with its broad-treaded grip and its square mug.<\/span><\/p>\n

Franck, from Airsoft-Concept shop<\/a>, lent me a Tokyo Marui in order to make a full review as well as a comparison with the WE model (review HERE<\/a>)

Lorsqu’on fait quelques recherches sur le XDM, on trouve rapidement \u00ab\u00a0Springfield Armory\u00a0\u00bb associ\u00e9 \u00e0 ce mod\u00e8le. En cherchant quelques secondes de plus, on d\u00e9couvre que si la licence et la distribution est \u00e0 la charge de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine, la fabrication est effectu\u00e9e en Croatie par la compagnie HS Produkt<\/span><\/a>. Le succ\u00e8s du XDM et de son pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur, le HS2000, permit \u00e0 l’armurier croate de passer de 80 employ\u00e9s \u00e0 plus de 1000 en moins de 7 ans.<\/p>\n

La version qui nous int\u00e9resse est le 4.5″ en calibre .40 Smith&Wesson \u00e9quip\u00e9 d’un chargeur de 16 balles (nous nous contenterons de 6mm full plastic jacket).<\/p>\n

When you do some research about the XDM, you quickly found the name Springfield Armory associated with it. A few more seconds allow you to discover that is the American firm is in charge of licensing and distributing the gun,\u00a0 the XDM is actually a Croatian weapon, made by HS Produkt<\/span><\/a> . The successful welcome of the XDM led HS to develop from 80 employees in 2000 to about 1,000 in 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n

The model we’re interested in today is the 4.5″, .40 S&W caliber, housing a 16-bullet mag (we will continue to use 6mm full plastic jacket for our airsoft games !).<\/span><\/p>\n

J’avoue \u00eatre agr\u00e9ablement surpris par les derniers mod\u00e8les propos\u00e9s par WE. La s\u00e9rie des F2xx et des Gxx ne m’avait pas sp\u00e9cialement emball\u00e9 plus que \u00e7a (m\u00eame si cela reste des alternatives abordables aux mod\u00e8les plus haut de gamme). La prise en main est bonne et la finition globale de la r\u00e9plique surprend : trace de moulage discr\u00e8te, aucun d\u00e9faut notable et une impression de solidit\u00e9 qui, je l’esp\u00e8re, sera v\u00e9rifi\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

I must say that I’m surprised by the latest products by WE. The F2xx and Gxx series didn’t impressed me much (even if they are a fine alternative to high end models). The handling is good and the overall finish suffers with no big flaws. The molding line is discreet and there is a feeling of sturdiness that, I hope, isn’t just a feeling…<\/span><\/p>\n

As we focus on the butt, let’s see the different grips given with the replica. To remove the grip, remove the small pin first. This pin also acts as a lanyard retainer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The front of the slide also has a thread, useful on the RS model to perform a press check, but quite useless in airsoft as the BBs tend to be loaded pretty soon…\u00a0 Notice the railed frame, useful to mount a flashlight or a laser device. Finally, there’s the serial number on the frame.

Billes bio Xtreme pr\u00e9cision 0.2 grammes.<\/p>\n

La valeur moyenne obtenues en FPS avec du gas Abbey Predator144a est de 275 FPS. On monte \u00e0 285 FPS avec du gaz Ultrair.<\/p>\n

Le hop up est efficace il l\u00e8ve un grammage de 0.25 sans souci, on a \u00e0 faire \u00e0 un joint qui a fait ses preuves. Le kick est bien pr\u00e9sent, on sent bien le choc du recul. Niveau port\u00e9e, on atteint les 25-30 m\u00e8tres avec une dispersion honorable.<\/p>\n

The average power is 275 FPS using Abbey Predator144a gas. When switching to Ultrair, it raises to 285 fps.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The hop up is efficient, it has no problem lifting 0.25BB. . The kick is interesting. The range is about 30-35 meters with a good accuracy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Concernant la pr\u00e9cision, les tests ont \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9s \u00e0 une distance de 5, 10 puis 20 m\u00e8tres avec des billes 0.25 Xtreme precision bio.<\/p>\n

La qualit\u00e9 des mat\u00e9riaux et des finitions sont bien au dessus des mod\u00e8les WE mais pour un prix en France avoisinant les 230 Euros, cela reste une r\u00e9plique que peu de joueurs pourront s’offrir. Tokyo Marui provides us once again with a hall of a gun ! This XDM has got ragularity and accuracy beyond the average, only the shooter can make the difference ! The quality of the materials ans the finish are way beyond WE. The only downside is the price. In France it costs roughly \u20ac230, a litle bit too much for most players. Il est certain que le contenu et la qualit\u00e9 de fabrication du mod\u00e8le Marui joue en sa faveur, mais avec 100 Euros d’\u00e9cart de prix en moyenne, la plupart des joueurs pr\u00e9f\u00e9rera sans doute partir sur le mod\u00e8le WE, et en cas de casse, changer les pi\u00e8ces d\u00e9fectueuses par du Marui.<\/p>\n

Pour ma part, si je ne suis pas fan des glissi\u00e8res en ABS car je joue au propane (source de stress sur les glissi\u00e8res plastique), je suis malgr\u00e9 tout un inconditionnel des r\u00e9pliques de poing Marui pour leur r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 et leur pr\u00e9cision en sortie de boite. Seul le prix \u00e9lev\u00e9 me fait pr\u00e9f\u00e9rer d’autres marques telles que WE ou KWA, mais comme on le dit souvent : la qualit\u00e9, \u00e7a se paye…<\/p>\n
